Nautical Maxi

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend my first event as a new member of the Junior League of Washington. They told us the attire was to be “summer casual” and I always stick with the thought process that it is better to be a bit over-dressed than to walk in and feel like an idiot because you are visibly too casual (unless that is your MO, then go ahead and rock that). So this is the look I came up with, and it fit in quite smashingly.

Last weekend was a pretty spectacular time spent visiting the national Christmas tree at the White House, visiting The W Hotel lounge, and finishing off Sunday night at the most novel of events, Zoo Lights. Zoo Lights was by far my favorite part of the weekend, though it was quite chilly. While there I was able to see several cute (and bizarre) creatures, such as the two above. And yes, the owl is real! The little guys next to him are Malagasay Giant Jumping Rats from Madagascar! (That’s a mouthful, eh?) Overall, I had a wonderful times visiting all the beautiful sights and creatures and having a great time with some of my best friends and Brett!
